Born in Monistrol de Montserrat (Barcelona), Gerard Farreras studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu and made his professional debut in 2017 at the Verdi Festival in Parma.

A former ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, he has performed roles such as Raimondo Bidebent (Lucia di Lammermoor), Timur (Turandot), Colline (La Bohème), Don Basilio (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), and Dottor Grenville (La Traviata). Earlier in his career, as part of the Opernstudio at Staatsoper Stuttgart, he appeared as Sarastro and Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte), Angelotti (Tosca), Uncle Bonzo (Madama Butterfly), Nikitic (Boris Godunov), and Zúñiga (Carmen), among other roles.

He is the recipient of six special prizes awarded between the 60th Tenor Viñas Competition and the Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto.

Farreras has appeared at leading venues such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu (La Traviata), Palau de les Arts in València (Anna Bolena), Teatro Real Madrid (The Nose), Festival de Peralada (Die Zauberflöte), and Teatro Regio di Parma (La Traviata). He has also sung Otello in Pamplona, Tosca in Oviedo, Pulcinella with OSCyL in Valladolid, and Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Berlin Philharmonie and the Baluarte in Pamplona.
